Close-up and simple love ideas — References 1–3
If two full figures feel like too much, begin with a close crop: eyes, lips, joined hands or two profiles. A tighter composition gives you fewer proportions to manage at once.
Couple compositions — References 4–9
Treat two people as one composition first. Check head spacing, shoulder angles and where the figures touch before drawing faces, hair or clothing.
For kissing profiles, place both head shapes first. The forehead, nose and chin angles should work before you add lips or eyelashes.
Hugs and kisses — References 10–17
In an embrace, draw the two torsos before the arms. Otherwise the hands often end up reaching bodies that were never placed properly. Put the nearer arm in first and let the hidden arm disappear naturally behind the other figure.
If faces are getting in the way, choose a pose where one face is partly hidden by hair or a shoulder. You can also reduce the embrace to a silhouette first.
Hands, cartoons and expressive sketches — References 18–22
What to check before adding detail
- Contact: do the hands, shoulders and faces actually meet where the pose suggests?
- Weight: do the two figures feel balanced, or are they leaning without support?
- Focal point: decide whether the drawing is about faces, hands or the overall silhouette and keep the rest quieter.

Dude some of them are not in pencil, please check them
they all have pencil because when people draw the do it light and then they do it in pen and then after the pen they color it…..
Whenever I need an inspiration to draw something I come here again and again
I agree with Phyllis I come here too
it’s pretty and some of the art shows good things in the images and there is art in everyone of the images and drawings because pictures are also now as art just so they know that
there is also this website sharing about top 10 best pencil artists in the world
It shows lots of diversity like the lesbian couple drawing
I love the art! It gives lots of inspiration for my job, character design for animation. Animals, like my dog and a moving body of water also help with ideas. In my opinion, going to a serene cafe helps get your creative juices flowing, or maybe there are only serene cafes in Paris 🙂
Or I’m just going crazy (what living alone does to you!)Have a great day!
