Have you ever been interested in prehistoric times or what do you know about prehistoric times? Or, more specifically, have you heard of the Cenozoic Era?
The giant shark, scientifically known as Megalodon or as recorded, Carcharocles megalodon, is believed to have lived in the Cenozoic Era (approximately 23 to 3.6 million years ago). Unfortunately, we know very little about this prehistoric apex predator giant shark due to limited resources and findings.
When we compare the rulers of these prehistoric oceans with other incredible creatures that lived in the same period, what distinguishes Megalodon from them and what makes it special is that it has an enormous size and is therefore the strongest predator of the oceans, despite the harsh nature in which it lives.
Megalodon’s enormous size: Just close your eyes for a second and imagine a Megalodon with enormous teeth. Megalodon is estimated to have reached lengths of 25 meters (82 feet) or more. This makes it significantly larger than even the whale shark, the largest known living shark species. (Please see. Fossil Shark Megalodon by Britannica)
