Sports cars are mostly about shape: a low roofline, wide stance, large wheels and bodywork that looks fast even when the car is standing still. These 39 pages range from clean side profiles to more detailed luxury, muscle-car and supercar-style drawings.
If you want a quick page, choose a car with large uninterrupted body panels. The detailed drawings take longer because the grille, wheel spokes, headlights and vents break the car into smaller areas. Colored pencils are especially useful there because you can shade around curves without covering the line work.
Coloring the bodywork
Lay down the main paint color first and leave the windows, tires and lights until later. A narrow lighter strip along the hood or roof can suggest reflected light without trying to render a full glossy finish. Darkening the underside of the car and the inside of the wheel arches adds depth quickly.
