Use more than one green
A plant looks less flat if you use two related greens instead of one. Start lighter across the leaf, then add the darker shade near the stem, along one edge or beneath overlapping leaves. You do not need to copy a real species—the kawaii pages work just as well with blue-green, pink or purple foliage.
Let the pot carry the accent color
