The 27 space coloring pages are split between simple outer-space scenes and more detailed planet, galaxy, astronaut and rocket designs. The cleanest pages are quick with crayons; the galaxy and solar-system scenes have more small areas and are easier to control with colored pencils or fine-tip markers.
Dark blue, violet and black make an easy space background, but leaving parts of the page white can keep the stars and spacecraft readable. Metallic gray, bright white and one accent color work well for rockets and astronaut suits.
The first few sheets use broad shapes and open backgrounds, so they are good choices when you want a fast page rather than a long project.
For the astronaut and spacecraft pages, keep the suit or vehicle lighter than the background. That contrast matters more than using “correct” space colors.
Planet and solar-system pages
If you want the planets to read clearly, give neighboring planets different value and color families instead of trying to make every surface scientifically exact. Earth can stay blue and green, Mars can lean rusty red, and the gas giants work well with bands of cream, tan, orange or blue. The page is still a coloring activity, so accuracy is optional.
For ringed planets, color the planet first and keep the rings lighter until the end. On galaxy scenes, leave some stars and small highlights uncolored so they do not disappear into a dark background.
Astronaut coloring pages
Start with the suit as one light base color, then use darker gray or blue around joints, gloves and equipment panels. A bright visor reflection or a single accent color on the backpack helps the astronaut stand out against a dark space background.
Rocket and spaceship pages
Use strong contrast on rockets: a light body with dark windows, fins or panel lines stays readable even after the background is colored. For launch scenes, warm orange and yellow exhaust against a cooler blue or black sky creates an easy focal point.
