Black and white cats are called “Bicolore” – (two colors). These animals are considered quite persistent, but it’s easy to get along with them. They may well do without communication with a person. This coloring is more common in outbred cats, but there are several breeds with a similar color: British, Van, Angora, Persian and Siberian.
Usually, black and white color “bicolor” can be found in cats of the British breed. They often give birth to kittens of different colors: from lilac-white to black and white. They are called harlequin cats. The primary color of representatives of this breed should prevail over the second. The number of spots should not be more than three.
Two-color cats after numerous shows were recognized in 1969 at various exhibitions. Only then did these beauties gain fame. Previously, their animals were considered culling. Black and white are common to many breeds:
Black and white British women are distinguished by nobility and become. Two-color Persians are good, cute creatures. Angora of this color has bright, expressive eyes. Siberian fluffy cat with this color has a large number of spots on the body. A similar color can be found in such exotic breeds as Japanese bobtail, Himalayas, snow-shoe and Neva masquerade.
There are cats of different breeds of the “black harlequin” color in black and white. They have a basic white color, on which black spots are located, they can be either spotty or striped and have any shape. The correct oval or round patterns look spectacular.
If the “harlequin” has spots with uneven edges, it looks original and cute: the painted parts are like drawings resembling a heart, fruit or an infinity sign. In the center, the white coat should be absent.
The harlequin color is the ideal arrangement of black spots, distinct borders from a white background with black color. One pattern is located on the face of the animal, captures the ears, and on the back, there are several spots to the tail, not connecting in one continuous strip.
It happens, and one huge or several small spots on the body elongated and horizontal in shape. The tail of two-tone British women is completely colored. Due to the variety of shapes, sizes, and location of the drawing, the same harlequin cats are not born.
If the spots are more or less, then the color has the name “bicolor”. The bulk of the coat is dark in color and the rest is white. For this coloring are characteristic:
- Light paws with spots of the same color (the lower part is painted).
- White spot on the chest.
- One or more small milk-colored designs.
- White chest and paws, everything else is black (outwardly resembles a tuxedo).
The last color is characteristic of cats with black and white hair.
The “van” color is characterized by a small spot on the paw or side and a small spot on the head. The tail is fully colored. On the face just above the eyes, there are one or two small drawings of a dark shade.
Perhaps a small spot on the shoulders of the animal and small on the limbs on the backside. These cats are always successful at exhibitions, they are admired by experts and visitors.
